About | Our Story
VENTUS was founded in 2000 out of the need for a complete approach to career development and education. While the US education system offers children and young adults foundational education, there is not a specific place or program that teaches us how to navigate through one of the primary areas where we will spend our time: the world of work. Combining a quantitative and qualitative approach, VENTUS is focused on providing individuals with a career pathing process and tools they can use throughout their career lifecycle.
The word “ventus” is the latin word for wind, a powerful natural element that, in itself, is unseen by the human eye. The only way we see the wind is through its actions, such as blowing through the trees.
The wind is a metaphor for the human spirit and symbolizes the power of an individual within their own life, and specifically in shaping their life through their work. As a company, VENTUS is dedicated to assisting people in tapping into that powerful source – not just once, but for the rest of their careers.
About | How Ventus Works
VENTUS is an innovative, curriculum-based program delivered in an intensive one-to-one environment, matching one Facilitrainer™ with one client for the entirety of the career pathing process. Program packages range from 10, 15 or 20 weeks, with a 2 hour personal session each week. VENTUS integrates core components of career development into an affordable services delivery model focused on results.
About | The Ventus Process
The Greek mathematician Euclid once said that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts – meaning that when you put all the parts of something together, usually the whole thing does more, IS more, than just a bunch of individual parts thrown together. A car becomes transportation when its parts are all together. A group of three talented tenors becomes a. A bunch of good managers, business people, some computers and a good product or idea become a company. Each part contributes to a greater whole.
The same applies to the career process. Each person has unique talents, experiences and skills that they carry around with them everywhere they go. Often we look at these things as no more than pieces of information to put in our resumes. But we are more than that – the sum of those things actually produces something quite dynamic when given the right environment for expressing itself – and then we are not just parts, but a whole, dynamic person.
The world of careers is much the same way. We see the parts all around us – career coaching, career assessments, executive search firms, outplacement firms, resume writing companies, networking organizations. Each one of these companies serves a purpose – each contributes to the larger picture of the world of work, but in some ways, they remain just pieces of the puzzle – just parts not connected to a greater whole. But what if we were to take each of these pieces and put them into one company – one puzzle; now the parts take on a dynamic far greater than what they had by themselves.
The VENTUS model has four major components – parts that become a dynamic foundation when developed within the holistic framework of your Authentic Career.
